Warren Pearce

Chief Executive Officer

Warren is an experienced leader with a proven record of achievement working in both the public and private sectors. He has held a number of senior advocacy positions including at the Chamber of Minerals and Energy of WA, the WA Local Government Association, and prior to joining AMEC was the Chief Executive Officer of Local Government Professionals WA. Before his career in advocacy, Warren served as a Senior Adviser in the Gallop and Carpenter WA Governments.

Kate Dickson

Head of National Operations & Director - Queensland

Kate brings a unique perspective and a wealth of experience in the resources industry, with an understanding in both private and public sectors. Drawing from a deep appreciation of the sector’s history and a keen eye on the future, Kate collaborates closely with stakeholders to drive AMEC’s Strategic Plan, ensuring positive outcomes for AMEC members and the broader community. Kate’s commitment to upholding AMEC’s advocacy traditions is unwavering, and she actively involves stakeholders in this journey. Her background and extensive experience have instilled in her the belief that implementing the right policy levers is the key to making a lasting positive impact in the resources industry.

Neil Van Drunen

Head of National Policy & Director - Western Australia, Northern Territory & Commonwealth Policy

Neil has over a decade of experience working in State government ministerial offices, international development and industry associations. Neil spent four years as a senior advisor in the WA Premier’s office, followed by two years with the Minister for Mines and Petroleum as the principal policy advisor. Prior to joining AMEC, Neil lived in Vienna, Austria, leading the corporate communications department of an international development consultancy. Neil holds a Masters in Economics.

Sash Pavic

Director - Commonwealth

Sash has a decade of experience working in the Federal Government, most recently as a Senior Adviser to the Commonwealth Minister for Resources.

Sash is passionate about good policy development which looks to maximise the potential of Australia’s natural minerals endowment while also helping meet the economic, industry, environment and security ambitions of the Government.

Sash brings with him extensive policy expertise, understanding of government processes and wide ranging stakeholder experience.

Kerry Atkins

Director - New South Wales

Kerry is a multifaceted mining industry professional blending expertise in both commercial and mining engineering domains. Kerry has worked extensively in operations throughout Australia and the Pacific region, and has previously advocated on a member based mining industry board. She is a passionate advocate who is committed to fostering a future of reliance and prosperity for the resources sector. Kerry has a Bachelor of Business, FCPA and a keen interest in optimising the commerciality of mining projects.

Stuart Glazebrook

Director - Victoria & Tasmania

Stuart is a resources and investment professional with more than 25 years industry experience across exploration and mining, equity capital markets, corporate finance and investment banking, equity market analysis and communications, executive search and talent acquisition. With a BSc (Earth Sciences) from La Trobe University and postgraduate studies in finance & investment, Stuart is a qualified geologist who has worked extensively throughout Australia and the Pacific region, maintaining a passionate advocacy for the resources sector and a commitment to driving its future strength and success.

Peta Abbot

Director - South Australia

Peta has extensive experience working with explorers and miners in various roles across South Australian government, including as a geologist, commodity and value-chain specialist, economic analyst and strategic project leader. Peta has post graduate qualifications in education and mineral and energy economics and recently worked in principal roles for hydrogen industry development and renewable energy policy. Peta endeavours to catalyse policy and work with members to develop a successful and sustainable mining and exploration industry, that provides benefits for stakeholders and the broader community.

Tarnya Widdicombe

Policy Manager - Western Australia

Taryna has a wealth of experience from more than eight years in the Western Australian Government, most recently serving as Chief of Staff in the Department of Premier and Cabinet.

Prior to her time in government Tarnya worked for the State Opposition in policy development and understands the crucial role advocacy plays in ensuring industry is represented in the decision making process.

Amy Warden

Policy Manager - Queensland

Amy is an experienced Environmental Professional with a demonstrated history of working in the mining & metals industry.

Skilled in Environmental Awareness, Continuous Improvement, Contract Management, Commissioning, and Urban Design.

Amy is a strong business development professional with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science from the University of New England and an Undergraduate Bachelor’s Degree in Law from Central Queensland University.

Katie Williams

Manager – Membership & Sponsorship (QLD, NSW, VIC &TAS)

Katie brings a wealth of experience in stakeholder engagement, business development and relationship management, having built an extensive network across Australia’s mining, exploration and resources sectors.

Throughout her career, she has worked closely with explorers, producers, service providers, government agencies and industry leaders to build strong partnerships, strengthen collaboration, and create lasting value that supports sustainable industry growth.

Her ability to build trusted relationships, identify opportunities and connect people with purpose underpins her approach to supporting AMEC’s strategic objectives and ensuring members remain at the centre of the association’s work.

Ryan Rampling

National Manager - Media and Communications

Ryan is a media veteran with two decades of experience across Radio at 6PR as an Executive Producer of breakfast and morning talkback, TV at 9NEWS as Senior Chief of Staff and prior to joining AMEC was the Executive Producer for 7NEWS & Seven West Media program ‘Flashpoint’, a weekly public affairs program. Ryan also has experience across internal and external communications at state-owned power supplier Western Power and online educator My Education Group. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Arts (Media and Communications) and Graduate Certificate of Marketing and is the co-founder of organ donation charity Donor Mate.

Anne Marie Doig

Office Manager & Executive Assistant

Anne Marie is responsible for the overall management of the AMEC office and finances and for providing executive assistance to the CEO. She has been in this role for over 13 years, ensuring organisational strength and stability. In addition, Anne Marie coordinates the board papers for the Executive Council and assists the team in most facets of the organisation from membership, communications, IT and events. Prior to joining AMEC, Anne Marie worked in the forestry sector, education and mining.

Gary Low

National Manager – Events

Dedicated event manager with a proven track record in executing diverse events, from large corporate conferences, music festivals to community engagements. Over 20 years of event experience, including being Venue Manager at Hyatt Regency Perth and Production Manager at a leading AV supplier in Perth, with extensive experience in putting together events of any size.

Gabrielle Lebeck

Communications Creative Designer – Marketing & Brand

Gabrielle is an experienced graphic designer and marketing professional who has worked across a range of industries. She has a background in television broadcasting, major sporting codes, education and peak industry organisations. She blends creativity with strategic marketing to enhance and
strengthen AMEC’s brand resonance.
 
Her diverse expertise enables her to tackle projects with a comprehensive approach, ensuring that every design element aligns seamlessly with broader brand objectives. Gabby is committed to delivering impactful results to connect with audiences and drive meaningful engagement.

Jenny Johnson

Manager – Membership & Sponsorship (WA, SA & NT)

Jenny joins AMEC with over 23 years in the mining industry specialising in Tenement Management and Approvals. Throughout her career she has worked with both small, medium and top tier companies assisting with all aspects of tenure, legislation and compliance.

Her extensive knowledge of industry and passion for the sector serves her well, to ensure the association continues to grow and champion legislative reform.

Paula Dell-McCumstie

Policy Adviser - New South Wales

Paula is a geologist with over 35 years’ experience in mining and exploration in UK and Australia. Working at Newcrest’s’ Cadia Valley Operations for 11 years revealed Paula’s passion for engaging with people about the minerals industry so started her own company assisting miners and explorers with their community engagement requirements. Paula was AMEC’s East Coast Membership Manager until she had to have a break to conquer  cancer. Now Paula is back and taken on the role as part time NSW Policy Advisor where she is assisting AMEC members navigate and comply with Government requirements.

Nicolas Parry

Senior Policy Adviser - Western Australia & Northern Territory

Nicolas (Nic) Parry joined AMEC in August of 2022 as a Policy Advisor (WA, NT, and Commonwealth) having completed a BA in International Relations at Curtin University. 

Nic is driven to help support AMEC members, particularly in the Northern Territory, and to continue learning about industry in all areas of policy development and advocacy for the continued growth of the mining industry.

Sofia Ampil

Events & Administration Officer

Sofia supports AMEC’s events and administrative functions, helping to ensure the smooth delivery of operations across the organisation. She brings a well-rounded background across events, marketing, and administration, contributing to effective coordination and ongoing efficiency.

Prior to joining AMEC, Sofia worked as Marketing and Events Coordinator at Pinot & Picasso, where she managed studios across Western Australia and South Australia, coordinating end-to-end event delivery, marketing campaigns, and administrative processes to support business operations.
