New AMEC Manager for New South Wales

26 September 2018

The Association of Mining and Exploration Companies is pleased to announce that Ms Lucy McClean will start on 1 October as the dedicated New South Wales Manager.

Ms McClean first started in the minerals industry over twenty years ago and has extensive experience advocating on behalf of mining and mineral exploration companies in New South Wales.

She is a highly qualified environmental scientist and has hands on experience working with mineral exploration companies including one that at the time had the largest tenement holdings in the State.

Ms McClean also has experience advocating on behalf of members in a previous role with the New South Wales Minerals Council. She has recently worked with Federal and State parliamentarians across the political spectrum and in stakeholder management.

“AMEC is pleased to welcome Lucy to the AMEC team,” said Mr Warren Pearce, Chief Executive Officer, Association of Mining and Exploration Companies.

“She is eminently qualified for this role and has demonstrated a passion for supporting small mineral exploration companies and developing miners making discoveries and establishing new mines.”

“Each new mine means new jobs and social and economic benefits.”

“AMEC is focussed on increasing greenfield’s mineral exploration and lowering the cost of doing business. Our organisation’s aim is to help companies make discoveries and turn them into operating mines for the benefit of the wider community.”

“Ms McClean will be spearheading AMEC’s advocacy efforts and ensuring the needs of our members are heard loud and clear in New South Wales,” said Mr Pearce.
