Warren is an experienced leader with a proven record of achievement working in both the public and private sectors. He has held a number of senior advocacy positions including at the Chamber of Minerals and Energy of WA, the WA Local Government Association, and most recently as the Chief Executive Officer of Local Government Professionals WA. Before beginning his career in advocacy, he served as a Senior Adviser in the Gallop and Carpenter WA Governments.
Neil has over ten years’ experience working in State government ministerial offices, international development and industry associations. Neil spent four years as a senior adviser in the WA Premier’s office, followed by two years with the Minister for Mines and Petroleum as the principal policy adviser. Prior to joining AMEC, Neil lived in Vienna, Austria, leading the corporate communications department of an international development consultancy. Neil holds a Masters in Economics.
Lucy is a passionate advocate for the minerals industry. Lucy has had wide-ranging experience in the minerals industry, first starting in the industry over 20 years ago. She has worked in environment, community and tenure management for exploration companies as well as extensive experience in industry advocacy. Lucy is a strong supporter of women in the industry and mental health, having recently completed the Kokoda Trek with Mates in Mining. Lucy holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) and has completed postgraduate qualifications in Business.
Sarah has 20 years experience in operational, policy, advisory and management roles, most recently with the Queensland Department of Resources. Over the last 18 months Sarah has been integral in leading development of the Queensland Resources Industry Development Plan. Sarah strongly believes in the long term future of our resources sector and looks forward to working with our members and team.
Samantha joins AMEC after years of public sector experience in both Australia and the UK. Whilst completing a Bachelor of Commerce and Master of International Relations, Samantha undertook a wide range of analytical and project roles in time pressured environments. She has been recognised for applying high- quality research to develop policies and achieve strategic and operational objectives for each department she has worked for. Samantha’s current focus is ensuring the views, comments and concerns of AMEC members are expressed through proactive stakeholder engagement and advocacy.

Kelly Oversby is a skilled communications professional with more than 20 years’ experience in PR, communications and media in the Government, corporate and NGO sector. Prior to joining AMEC, Kelly was the Principal Advisor for over 12 years with a boutique PR consultancy, APAC Marketing Manager for an international lighting company and a former print journalist. A qualified PR and communications professional with a BA in Media and Communications and a wide-ranging background, Kelly is also experienced in community relations, crisis management and media training.
Doug Bowie come to AMEC with 30+ years of involvement within the resources industry in a range of different roles. A geologist with experience in mining, exploring for, and developing Nickel, Gold, and Tantalum deposits, Doug has a working knowledge of how the industry works. Doug has also previously held roles in Government and mining tech as well as a long career in resources events.
Paula is a geologist with over 30 years’ experience in engineering, mining and exploration in UK and Australia. Working at Newcrest’s Cadia Valley Operation for 11 years revealed Paula’s passion for engaging with people about the minerals industry. Now Paula works part time as AMEC’s Membership Manager for NSW, QLD, VIC and part time assisting explorers gain Land Access and carrying out Community Engagement.
Anne Marie is responsible for the overall management of the AMEC office and finances and for providing executive assistance to the CEO. She has been in this role for 10 years, ensuring organisational strength and stability. In addition, Anne Marie coordinates the board papers for the Executive Council and assists the team in most facets of the organisation from membership, communications, IT and events. Prior to joining AMEC, Anne Marie has worked in the forestry sector, education and mining.

Stuart is a resources and investment professional with more than 25 years industry experience across exploration and mining, equity capital markets, corporate finance and investment banking, equity market analysis and communications, executive search and talent acquisition. With a BSc (Earth Sciences) from La Trobe University and postgraduate studies in finance & investment, Stuart is a qualified geologist who has worked extensively throughout Australia and the Pacific region, maintaining a passionate advocacy for the resources sector and a commitment to driving its future strength and success.

Linda Peng joined AMEC as a Policy Adviser in 2023 whilst completing a dual degree towards BSc (Earth Science/Ecology) and BCom (International Business).
Prior to joining the organisation, she undertook the role of a Junior Exploration Geologist at Silver Mines Limited, which piqued her interest in exploration projects, as well as policy and community engagement in the resources sector. Linda is committed to supporting AMEC member companies in accomplishing their desired outcomes and advocating for the mining industry’s future growth.
Chris is a passionate, qualified communications and design specialist who has worked on a wide variety of projects spanning real estate to hospitality marketing. Chris’ past experience as a designer comes from being part of one of the largest print companies in Perth where he was exposed to diverse methods of printing and design including mailing, offset production, signage, shop frontage decals and more.
Melanie has eight years’ experience supporting CRM databases over several diverse industries including disability, retail and not-for-profit. With experience as a data analyst, client system support officer and technical author, Melanie has gathered skills in supporting and training users, developing system documentation as well as creating strategic reporting to ensure effective data utilisation. Melanie has a double major in Economics and Information Systems from Murdoch University.
